Description
One of the biggest complaints about Metallica's "And Justice for All" album was that the bass was mixed so low that it was almost completely inaudible.
Jason Newsted (who is a great bass player) was very unhappy with the album because of this, and even the band claimed that they might have done this out of spite in an attampt to "grieve through hate" of their original bass player's death.
The Playboy interview with the band that discusses this can be found here.
FINALLY.... This is the original studio recording with Jason's bass MUCH higher in the mix. It was done with the isolated bass part in the video game "rock band" which was re-dubbed onto the song.
Here is also a version of the song "And Justice for All" with the same treatment.
We also have a version of "Blackened" with ONLY the bass.
Genius!
